Higher Technician in Teaching and Socio-Sportive Animation

About

These studies provide the skills to design, manage, and evaluate physical-sports and recreational animation projects for all types of users, programming and directing teaching activities, socio-sports inclusion, and leisure activities, coordinating the actions of the involved professionals, ensuring safety, respecting the environment, and achieving user satisfaction within the projected cost limits.

The duration is 2,000 hours spread over two academic years.

Access

People having some of the following requirements can access directly to the program:

  • Have the high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have a Vocational Education and Training diploma (VET) or a Certificate of Higher Education (HNC)
  • Professional or technical specialist
  • Have any Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Having passed the university entrance test for over 25 years

People not having any of the aforementioned requirements must pass an entrance test. In order to apply, it is necessary be aged 19 years old or turn 19 during the year in which the test will take place.

Objectives

The training of students in the Higher Vocational Education and Training in Teaching and Socio-Sportive Animation is characterized by addressing the following:

  • Relating the different elements and factors of a socio-sportive animation project in a coherent manner, assessing socio-economic, physical-geographic, cultural, and sport-recreational data, among others, to develop socio-sportive animation projects.
  • Proposing actions in the socio-sportive field that affect the health and quality of life of citizens, characterizing the target groups and incorporating sector advancements to develop socio-sportive animation projects.
  • Determining the tools and application sequences in the evaluation of socio-sportive animation projects, using information technology to process the variables in order to develop and record the evaluation plan.
  • Sequencing the actions that need to be carried out to implement a project, specifying the necessary resources and how to obtain them, to manage the launch of the socio-sportive animation project.
  • Organizing available human and material resources, planning actions for promotion, development, and supervision, to manage the implementation of the socio-sportive animation project.
  • Arranging the spaces, equipment, and materials for the activities, applying optimization criteria in their use, to ensure the availability of necessary resources for carrying out the activities.
  • Evaluating situations related to occupational risk prevention and environmental protection, proposing and applying personal and collective prevention measures in accordance with applicable regulations in work processes, to ensure safe environments.

Internship

Centre Garbí offers its students a network of over 100 centers and organizes internships in top-level sports organizations (FC Barcelona, Girona FC, Bàsquet Girona, …), private training and physical preparation centers, educational institutions, tourism companies, sports event organizing companies, and facility management companies.

Completing this vocational training cycle allows you to enter the workforce as:

  • Teacher of physical-sportive activities (swimming, athletics, basketball, volleyball, tennis, paddle, among others).
  • Physical-sportive and recreational animator.
  • Animator for socio-sportive inclusion activities.
  • Animator for events and shows in tourist facilities.
  • Animator for outdoor recreational activities in tourist facilities.
  • Coordinator of sports animation activities.
  • Coordinator of physical-sportive activities in sports facilities of tourism companies or public and private entities.
  • Coordinator of educational leisure for children and youth.
  • Coordinator of camps, youth hostels, summer camps, farm schools, youth hostels, and nature schools.
  • Coordinator of extracurricular activities in the school setting.
  • Coordinator of educational leisure projects for children and youth.
  • Director of educational leisure for children and youth.
  • Director of camps, youth hostels, summer camps, farm schools, youth hostels, and nature schools.
  • Director of extracurricular activities in the school setting.
  • Coordinator of the tourism animation department.
  • Timekeeper, judge, or referee for unofficial sports competitions.
  • Sports promoter and organizer of elementary or social-level competitions and basic-level sports events.
  • Monitor of physical-sportive and recreational activities in camps.
  • Monitor of leisure activities.

We remind you that the reservation of the place will only be considered effective once the payment of the pre-enrollment fee of 315 € has been validated. This payment must be made to the account number specified in the last section of the pre-enrollment form. It is very important that when making the transfer, you include the name and surname of the student and the name of the studies which are pre-enrolling. Once your place is confirmed in July, you will need to make a payment of 321 €* which corresponds to the enrollment fee.
