This program trains students to process histological and cytological samples, to select and make the gynaecological and general cytology diagnostic approximation. Collaborate in the realization of clinical and forensic necropsies to support the clinical or medico-legal diagnosis, organizing and planning the work and fulfilling criteria of quality service and optimization of resources, under the specific supervision of a doctor.
The duration is 2,000 hours (1,584 in class and 416 in internship) divided in two academic years.
People having some of the following requirements can access directly to the program:
People not having any of the aforementioned requirements must pass an entrance test. In order to apply, it is necessary be aged 19 years old or turn 19 during the year in which the test will take place.
The Technician in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis will develop the following competences:
M1: Management of biological samples (198 hours)
M2: Laboratory general techniques (198 hours)
M3: Molecular and cytogenetic biology (132 hours)
M4: Necropsies (66 hours)
M5: Cytological and tissue processing (165 hours)
M6: General cytology (165 hours)
M7: Gynaecological cytology (198 hours)
M8: General pathophysiology (231 hours)
M9: Professional training and career guidance (99 hours)
M10: Business and entrepreneurship (66 hours)
M11: Pathological and cytodiagnosis anatomy project (66 hours)
M12: Internship (416 hours)
The qualification of technical specialist obtained at the end of this program gives access to any Bachelor’s Degree. People who have obtained a Certificate of Higher Education (HNC) can validate ECTS university credits.

We remind you that the booking of a place will only be understood to have been made once the payment of 315,00 € has been validated, which must be made to the account number that you will find specified in the last section of the pre-enrollment form. It is very important that once you do the bank transfer, you write the name and surname of the student and the name of the formative cycle to which he/she is pre-registering.
The confirmation of place, which will be made via email, will be communicated from the date of the end of the pre-enrollment period (30th June), based on the date of pre-enrollment and payment and according to the criteria set out above. Exceptions will be made for students placed in third preference for admission to higher education, who will receive confirmation of their place the last week of July.
