Lecturer

Dr Gonzalo is a tenured professor accredited by ANECA. He holds a degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from the University of Lleida (INEFC). Furthermore, he holds two master’s degrees: one in Physical and Sports Performance from the University of Pablo de Olavide (an official master’s degree) and another in High Performance in Team Sports from the University of Barcelona (a professional master’s degree). He defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Zaragoza.

In the field of research, he has published more than 100 articles indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), over 80% of which are in Q1 and Q2 quartile journals. He has supervised 8 doctoral theses and more than 40 Master’s theses. His research lines focus on the optimisation of sporting performance and on the prevention and readaptation of injuries.

In terms of his professional career, he has worked in basketball, being part of CAI Zaragoza, the Spanish National Basketball Team and the Philadelphia 76ers, as well as in professional football, working for Real Zaragoza and Sevilla FC.
