223 students from the 2020/2024 graduating class of the Salt Campus of CAFyD, Physiotherapy and Double Degrees graduate

This Thursday, the Girona Auditorium was once again filled to capacity for the solemn Graduation Ceremony of the 2020/2024 graduating classes of the degrees in Physiotherapy, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and the Double Degree (CAFyD + Physiotherapy) of the Escola Universitària de la Salut i l’Esport of the Salt Campus. The ceremony, presented by journalist Jordi Grau, was presided over by Jordi Viñas (Mayor of Salt), Dr. Pepus Daunis (Vice-rector of Quality and Transparency of the UdG), Rafel Magrinyà (academic director of EUSES UdG); Dr. Ernest Esteve (director of the Degree in Physiotherapy) and Adrià Martín (director of the Degree in CAFyD).

The ceremony began with the entrance of the new graduates, a total of 223, of which 141 correspond to the 12th promotion of the Degree in Physiotherapy; 76 to the 12th promotion of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and 5 to the 4th promotion of the Double Degree. The first speeches were given by Rafel Magrinyà, Ernest Esteve, Adrià Martín and Pepus Daunis, who coincided in the substance of their speeches, basically addressed to the new graduates, congratulating them on the reward after four years of effort, encouraging them in their imminent entry into the labour market as professionals and advising them on the advisability of continuing training and updating in their speciality. The words of these members of the presidential board were the preamble to the traditional presentation of diplomas to the new graduates who have been parading around the stage of the Auditorium (the president of COPLEFC, Pere Manuel, was also present at the ceremony) while the pianist Lluís Guerra played different pieces of music.

The representatives of the class of 2020/24, who when they began their studies at the university centre did so with the difficulties of being in the midst of a worldwide pandemic due to COVID, also addressed a few words of thanks to the teaching staff, classmates and family members. Abel Rossell, Oriane Guillaumot and Anaïs Puech, from the Physiotherapy Degree; Martina Tornés and Roger Coris, from the CAFyD Degree; and Luciano Valentín Sosa, from the Double Degree). In the final stretch, the traditional plaques (which will soon be hung at the entrance to the Salt Campus) and medals were awarded. The university hymn Gaudeamus Igitur brought the ceremony to a close just after the Mayor of Salt, Jordi Viñas, closed the graduation with a final speech.
